JPE working with DIY SOS

As part of the local community JPE Buildwas was asked if it could contribute towards helping a family who wanted to get their little boy back to his family home after a lengthy stay in Hospital.

Matthew Cooper who is 11 had been cared for at Birmingham Children’s Hospital since August 2015 after being diagnosed with brain and spinal cancer.

Due to the family home, not being suitable for his needs Matthew, who had finished chemotherapy had been living in rented accommodation with his parents Leigh and Sue.

The BBC’s DIY SOS team were contacted by the headmistress of the local school who had already started a fund to help transform the home and the lives of the family.

JPE Buildwas supplied the stone requested to help turn this once unsuitable home into a stunning family space equipped with everything needed to make sure Matthews rehabilitation can continue with all his loved one’s around him.

Pete and Steve from JPE went down on the day of the unveiling and although it was a very emotional experience they had a great time meeting the family and the DIY SOS team.
